Nanny Placement

About

A nanny is a loving and devoted individual whose workplace is in a familyís private home. A nanny can be employed part time or full time and may also live in the familyís house. A nanny becomes partners with parents to nurture their children and plan activities and outings that meet the physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs of the child in accordance with parents' direction. We believe a nanny is more than just a babysitter. Our nannyís are willing to make at least a one year commitment with the right family. They are willing to work with children in areas such as potty training, social skills, early childhood education and more. Some typical duties of a nanny include: Bottle feeding and preparation of meals for the children, caring for a sick child, doing the childrenís laundry, escorting the children on play dates and outings, assisting school age children with homework, occasional travel and overnight stay, keeping a daily journal, maintaining a clean environment for play, driving the children to and from afterschool activities and appointments, etc. Our nannies are experienced and are expected to be paid $12-$15 per hour. We highly recommend a nanny/family contract when hiring a long term permanent nanny into your home. This is very effective in keeping all requirements and aspects of the nannies job clear and out in the open.

Full Time Nanny

A full time nanny works 35 or more hours per week. They generally work between 35-50 hours per week. They are flexible with their schedule and here to help take some of the stress off the family by helping care for the children.

Part Time Nanny

A part time nanny works 34 hours or less per week. They generally want to work a minimum of 4 hours at any one time and a minimum of 12-15 hours per week. Finding part time care can be significantly harder than finding full time as most nannies want to work a full time schedule.

How it works

You must first fill out our online application. After the application is completed and submitted a member of The Sitter Source will promptly call you to find out your specific needs and if our service is a good fit for your family. After deciding that we are right for you we will set up a meeting in your home or a neutral location, whichever is most convenient for you. At this meeting we will discuss exactly what you will require of your nanny. We will give you an informational packet that will supply you with extensive information about hiring a nanny into your home. We will then work hard to interview nannies. During the nanny interviewing process we will be meeting the nannies one on one. We require them to have AT LEAST 3 years of working childcare experience and 3 childcare references which we call and verify. We require all of our nannies to have their child abuse and criminal background checks. They must be CPR certified, pass a physical exam and TB test. They must also possess a drivers license and have a clean driving record. After all is complete we will send nannies that fit your requirements to your home for you to meet and interview. Our job is to minimize your efforts as much as we possibly can. We know that interviewing nannies can be very tedious and time consuming. Once the right nanny is placed into your home, then you will decide salary and hours required of that nanny. We will follow up within a month time to see if your situation is working as you had anticipated. We also offer a 90 day one time guarantee. If the nanny's position is terminated within the first 90 days of employment, for at no fault of the family, we will conduct a new nanny search for no additional fees.

How it works

You must first fill out our online application. After the application is completed and submitted a member of The Sitter Source will promptly call you to walk you through the payment process. Once you are an online member you may call us any day of the week between the hours of 6 a.m.-10 p.m. to request an on-call sitter. You will be charged a booking fee for each day a sitter is required. A sitter will then be sent to your home on your scheduled day and time. You may request a certain sitter and we will ask their availability before someone else. If you need emergency assistance (a sitter with less than a 24 hour notice) then an extra fee will be added to the booking fee. All of our sitters are paid by the family. We recommend that our sitters be paid at least $10.00 per hour. We also recommend hiring 2 or more sitters for groups of more than 5 children.
